The next assignment for my Transparent Mediums class is going to be Pirate themed. I wanted to do a 'pinup pirate'. Here's my sketch...almost complete.
My final drawing for Editorial Painting. It's about sexual selection - humans compared to animals.

This is my final painting for Advanced Illustration Techniques. I put on a thick layer of gesso and painted on top of that with acrylic. I got a pretty good texture with this piece...overall, I'm happy with how it turned out.
This is just a color study that i did for my assignment in Illustration Techniques. I did a few others but this is the one I've decided on. I already started the final because I'm pretty excited about this piece. I wanted to play around a lot with the texture of acrylic on gesso. Also, I'm contrasting him these neat chandelier shapes that will be painted white and outlined in this nice red felt tip pen.
These are some sketches for my final project for Transparent Mediums. The assignment is open to anything that you want to do. I'm going to do a triptic piece on the Moulin Rouge. I've been really inspired by Toulouse Lautrec and the posters that he did for the Moulin Rouge. I've tried to stay loose with the sketches in order to try and grasp the timeless feel of these posters.

So, I finally busted out my wacom tablet and did this in photoshop. This is from a past sketch of mine...yes, it's Victoria Beckham.

Moulin Rouge...
This is just a piece that I did on my own this week. I decided to continue my "series" of girls in European scenes. The Moulin Rouge is not really that spectacular during the day time, but I would love to go back one day and see a show. This was done in acrylic and outlined in acrylic as well. The nighttime scene and puddles were difficult to handle....but it was nice to try it out.

I think I'm going to start incorporating my girls with more of an environment. And since I miss Europe so badly, I'm going to use photo reference from the pictures I took while over there.
Sacré-Cœur: my favorite church in Paris. It's so green, blue skies, like a paradise.
