Screenprint

This semester I am taking a screenprinting class which has been very difficult and time consuming. I'm learning a lot about the process and even though it is frustrating, I like the end results of screenprinting. This edition of 10 was my first big assignment. (This image was from a previous illustration I did this summer.)

I will also be selling these for $10 a piece...so let me know if you're interested!

Interview with Iulia from "Dream Create Inspire"

"I will start a project with students from fashion design and fashion illustration Universities all over the world. Why? Because this kind of conversation can be very helpful for dreamers who’d like to enter a University of Fashion Design or Fashion Illustration."

"This is the reason that today, I’d love to present you Nicole Jarecz, one of the most optimistic student I’ve ever meet."

"I talked with Nicole about her experience at the College for Creative Studies, the University were she is studying fashion illustration in Detroit, Michigan. We also talked about how she found her ideal internship, about how she’s creating her portfolio and much more interesting things that you’ll find while reading the interview."

For the rest of the interview please go to Dream Create Inspire

I had a lot of fun doing this interview with Iulia. Thanks again!

Veil

I did this piece on a textured piece of paper that I bought the other day. It was a new experience for me to work on this kind of background, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I also used a lot of other medium/techniques for this piece and hope to be doing more like this one! Enjoy!

Internship sketchbook work

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've actually been working on a lot of projects at the same time so it's taking me longer than usual. Here are some research sketches that I'm working on at my internship for the spring 2010 collection!

Sacre Coeur fashion

Here is my latest piece for senior studio. I'm still doing pieces inspired from Christian Dior's A/W 2009 collection. I used a lot of different techniques for this piece because I wanted lots of contrast between some realistic and unrealistic elements. The Sacre Coeur was taken from a photo I took about 2 years ago when I went to Paris. It's probably my favorite part of Paris...took forever to draw but I'm happy with the results. I also posted some of my process work...enjoy!!

Internship: Terrance Sullivan

Here is what I'm currently working on at my internship at Terrance Sullivan. This is for the development phase of his collection. We chose a skinny silhouette with statement shoulders.
